Dragonfly

Dragonflies are flying passive mobs that can be found flying around in swamp biomes.

Spawning

Dragonflies spawn in groups of 2-3 above grass blocks, dirt, mud, etc. minecraft/tags/blocks/dirt.json as well as leaves. They come in colors such as red, green, and blue.

Spawn biomes can be edited with a data pack via adding or removing biomes from tags/worldgen/has_dragonfly.json in Naturalist’s data files.

Drops

Dragonflies drop 1-3 experience when killed by a player or tamed wolf. They do not drop any items.

Item drops can be edited with a data pack via editing loot_tables/entities/dragonfly.json in Naturalist’s data files.

Behavior

Dragonflies randomly zip around in the air, making buzzing noises as they fly.

• Their flying patterns are a bit more jagged than bees.

Dragonflies are considered arthropods and take increased damage from the Bane of Arthropods enchantment.

Feeding them a chorus fruit will make them burp, letting out a small puff of a single bottle’s worth of dragon’s breath.
