Lizard
Spawning
Lizards spawn in groups of 1-2 above grass blocks at a light level of 9 or more in various biomes, including but not limited to swamps, forests, and jungles.
Depending on the biome they spawn in, lizards may have different appearances.
Spawn biomes can be edited with a data pack via adding or removing biomes fromtags/worldgen/has_lizard.json in Naturalist’s data files.
Drops
An adult lizard drops upon death:
- 1 lizard tail or cooked lizard tail if killed while on fire. This only drops from lizard tail entities, not actual lizards. The maximum amount is not affected by Looting.
Item drops can be edited with a data pack via editingloot_tables/entities/lizard.json in Naturalist’s data files.
Behavior
Lizards can be tamed using spider eyes, in which they will follow their new owner and can be commanded to sit.
Lizards drop their tails upon reaching half health. Their tail will flop around, and mobs will sometimes prioritize it as their new target, but not always. Their tails regrow after 12,000 ticks, or 1 minute.
